Overview
Wood is recruiting for a Sr. Expeditor to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and detail design scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible for the expediting of purchase orders to ensure delivery on time and within project schedules and purchase order terms. You will coordinate all aspects of desk and field expediting as determined by project strategy, processes, and procedures. Ensure personnel carrying out expediting activities have a clear understanding of processes and procedures.
Position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.
Responsibilities
The Sr. Expeditor will be responsible for:
- Establishing priorities, assigning workloads, and managing expediting team performance.
- Reviewing and managing the more difficult and complex aspects of the expediting workload.
- Having a detailed understanding of the supplier delivery obligations from the terms and conditions of purchase.
- Reviewing and interpreting supplier production plans and schedules, identifying delivery improvement opportunities, and negotiating delivery improvements and slippage recovery plans.
- Creation of daily expediting reports in the materials management system.
- Expediting of purchase orders daily with priority focus.
- Updating the materials management system with the expediting status of purchase orders.
- Continually setting expediting follow-up dates in the materials management system.
- Obtaining quotations for field expediting plans and CVs of third-party expediting providers.
- Placing purchase orders for third-party expediting services.
- Liaising with field expediting suppliers to coordinate expediting visits.
- Receiving, reviewing, and issuing field expediting progress reports and updating the system accordingly.
- Reviewing expediting reports to confirm the status of orders, sub-orders, and validate the agreed manufacturing schedules.
- Monitoring the progress of receipt and return of supplier documentation.
- Notifying the Supply Chain Manager of any potential schedule slippages.
- Negotiating improved delivery and recovery plans where required.
- Visiting suppliers at the request of the Supply Chain Manager and Material Manager on the project.

Experience:
- Qualified to ISCED Level 4/5 (Post-Secondary non-tertiary/Short-Cycle tertiary).
- Minimum 10 years of expediting experience demonstrating results.
- Detailed knowledge of suppliers, manufacturing schedules, and expediting.
- Detailed knowledge of terms and conditions of purchase and supplier obligations.
- Previous experience in a similar level role.
- Previous use of ERPs such as Maximo, Oracle, SAP.
- Broad knowledge of suppliers.
