Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The successful candidate will be working for one of the prestigious Poultry Companies in the Sultanate of Oman. Primary responsibility is to operate and manage parent stock breeder farms and provide leadership with highest level of operations capabilities and staff management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day to day management to support and ensure that the farm plots and their smooth operations.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement in rearing and production processes, ensuring that biological performance of the breeding stock is maximised by following best practices in poultry management, bird welfare and bio-security procedures.
• Responsible for coaching, development and supervision of the farm managers and technicians.
• Progress reporting to include physical farm improvements, performance metrics and safety.
• Develop strategic long term plans for the operation that support competitive improvement, implementation of safety and welfare measures for staff and animal care.
• Responsible for the most cost effective and efficient budget control for the farms.
• Collaborate with owners, business alliances and other industry experts to maximize farm production and business profitability.
• Participate in recruiting, hiring, on-boarding and accelerating the development of new team members.
• Timely and appropriate problem solving and decision making that will have a positive effect on reduction of turnover and increased employee satisfaction and productivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in poultry science, animal science or related discipline.
• Previous experience of at least 8-10 years in a Poultry Farm Manager position.
• Must have experience in poultry breeder farming with parent stock and with veterinary qualification.
• Proven track record demonstrating the ability to lead people and get results.
• Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, time¬?management plus excellent organizational skills.
• Must be able to organize multiple assignments, projects and complete them on schedule.
• Able to analyze and resolve problems at both strategic and functional levels.
• Must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization; possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be able to operate travel to other facilities and plants for meetings and other official matters.
• Must be a computer literate.
