Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Plan, organize, coordinate and control ground equipment maintenance resources to ensure best possible, cost effective maintenance of all company’s ground equipment.
- Plan and schedule maintenance of ground equipment to satisfy commercial and company requirements
- Position, store and control all spares, tools and equipment required for the maintenance and efficient operation of all aircraft ground support equipment.
- Communicate and coordinate with internal departments for better development and smooth operational performance.
- Ensure necessary paper work and documentation are raised, controlled and cleared in accordance with approved procedures and methods, prior to releasing any ground equipment for service.
- Ensure safe working practices are adhered to and constantly review work methods to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and contractual obligations.
- Ensure all incidents, accidents, occurrences and delays are promptly recorded and reported to user department and when appropriate to safety and security department.
- Maintain and implement self-auditing program in order to identify, highlight deficiencies and to take timely corrective measures.
- Exercise control on expenditure on maintenance of ground equipment in line with approved budget and justify and deviation arising.
- Promote and encourage staff development through Career Development Policy and training where appropriate.
- Manpower and capital budgets preparation for short and long term plans.
- Prepare a yearly, 5-year plan for ground support equipment replacement schedule taking into consideration of newly purchased and-or replaced equipped.
- Undertake any other duties related to ground equipment operation as and when directed by GMGO.
- Enforce staff discipline within the section.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline preferably in Mechanical Engineering and professional skills/qualifications with 12 years of r relevant experience in motor and heavy workshop equipment’s preferably in the aviation industry.
- Master Degree in the related field will be an advantage
