Employment: Full Time

STRATEGY: Functional Strategy

- Actively contribute in developing the internal audit strategy for the company in line with internal audit trends and legal stipulations and business plan - objective set by the executive management- mandate given by the Audit Committee;
- Design and develop the audit universe representing the potential range of all audit activities comprising of a number of auditable areas (strategic, operational, financial and compliance);
- Design and develop a risk based audit approach to identify and assess the risk exposure of the company and rank them for priority in the context of the audit objectives;
- Design and develop an audit cycle to adequately cover the identified risk areas;
- Actively play a proactive role in designing and developing a training & career development plan (incl. Omanisation and succession plan);
- Contribute to develop and maintain a quality assurance program to ensure conformance to IIA Professional Practice Framework (PPF)
- Continuously monitor and report identified strategic, financial, operational and compliance risks to proactively mitigate the risk or arrive at practical solution for uncontrollable business risks

OPERATIONAL: Audit Plan

- Develop the annual audit plan ensuring the audit universe is adequately covered considering the risk exposure, significance, and the quality of internal control environments that exist to mitigate risks;
- Direct and manage the engagement strategy including definition of audit objectives and scope, identification of associated risks, controls, and testing steps.
- Direct and manage the activities for documenting audit domain.
- Finalise the prioritization of audits, determine project budgets and allocate staff based on available skills and time constraints;
- Direct and oversee several concurrent audit projects to ensure comprehensiveness of audit.
- Lead and direct weekly team meetings to discuss audit progress and emerging audit issues.
- Coach and motivate audit staff in enriching their professional knowledge to achieve Internal Audit objectives.

Audit Operations

- Lead new initiatives for developing and documenting standards audit methodology for planning, executing audits, monitoring audit progress, resolving audit issues, communicating audit findings and monitoring the progress of management remediation plans;
- Lead a two-way discussion with Senior Management to define audit coverage for specific audit engagements;
- Maintain effective relationship with Senior Management on audit scope, issues resolution and remediation plans, through a continuous feedback mechanism;
- Build a solid working relationship with clients through continuous effective communication and client collaboration.
- Oversee operational, financial and out-station audits to ensure audits are carried out as per audit plan and in line with International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (“ISPPIA”);

Requirements

Bachelor degree in any related discipline preferably in Finance, Business Studies, Management, Engineering, or IT with the professional accreditation as Certified Internal Auditor (‘CIA’) with 10 years of relevant experience in Internal Audit preferably in the airline industry of which last 3 years in a Internal Audit Supervisory position. Master degree in any discipline will be an advantage.
