Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Participate in the development and preparation of operations strategy, plans and goals for the station in line with that of the ground handling functions and the overall plans of the company.
- Plan and organize resources (Staffs-Equipment’s) for station’s operational requirement. Ensure resources are being efficiency optimized.
- Review regularly the operational processes in the station, initiates and reviews proposals for improvements, recommends-implements changes to optimize the effective and efficient flow and delivery of services.
- Participate in the review of organizational structure and ensures requesting recommendations meet business requirements.
- Coordinate with Station Manager and other Departmental Heads (OAMC-PACA) in each station – operations support, traffic control, baggage services and RAMP services – to ensure that the flow of services to the carriers as well as the internal relationship between the functions is efficient and effective.
- Establish an effective reporting system to enable heads of functions under his supervision to provide regular reports or data on issues-activities under their supervision.
- Supervise the implementation of ground handling policies, service level agreements with carriers and IATA agreements and standards.
- Coordinate with other functions to provide and or seek regional operational services ensuring cost effectiveness and timely provision in line with established policies and standards.
- Keep abreast of regional and international trends in ground handling operations to gauge performance and new developments which may be suitable for implementation in the organization. Make appropriate recommendations for deployment.
- Contribute to the development of training plans and programs and ensures effective implementation of such plans and programs to the areas under his supervision.
- Must have good knowledge and prepare for the certification of ISAGO, RA3 validation and other similar certification.

- Prepare, validate-consolidate and obtain agreement to the budget for operations at the station.
- Monitor expenditure and performance against the established limits and initiates corrective action where necessary.
- Support and coordinate for Internal-External audits.
- Maintain required records, ensure all manuals are updated and information’s are communicated to all staffs on work procedures, policies and standards.
- Participate in the recruitment, training, development, management and motivation of employees under his supervision to ensure they are motivated, committed, encouraged and enabled to maximize their contribution to the company.

Requirements

- Bachelor Degree in a related discipline preferably in aviation or a business oriented discipline having 12 years of relevant experience in ground handling operations covering the whole range of services such as support, traffic control, ramp and baggage services of which 4 years of managerial experience is essential to the position.
- Master Degree in the related field will be an advantage
