Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Define and set standards on all aspects of Quality Assurance in the Engineering & Maintenance division Outstations and Support Services areas to ensure compliance with regulations as set by the company, DGCAR, EASA, IOSA and other regulatory authorities.
- Efficiently and effectively plan, organize, coordinate and control resources allocated to the Quality assurance department in order to achieve high quality maintenance standards acceptable to Airworthiness authority and the company.
- Prepare the department budget in line of the company’s operational plan and present to Vice President – Quality System.
- Carryout technical investigations of incidents and accidents in close liaison with EVP-E&M, Senior Manager – Base Maintenance and other Manager’s as necessary.
- Direct examination of engineering staff recommended by Department Heads for certification authorizations. This is to establish that their competence and knowledge of Company and DGCAR - EASA and other NAA’S authority’s requirements is of the satisfactory levels of the authorization sought.
- Ensure implementation of all DGCAR Oman, EASA, FAA, CAA etc. mandate a modification requirements on the fleet of the aircraft.
- Develop and maintain Quality Assurance System including Airworthiness Standards, Quality Audit programme, Company approvals etc in accordance with Regulatory and company’s rules.
- Ensure minimum equipment lists are adhered to for the dispatch of all revenue flights and any deviation to that requirement is properly controlled and monitored as per DGCAR Oman and EASA requirements.
- Maintain close liaison and cooperation with DGCAR Oman and customers approved by the Company and represent the Company on all matters related to Quality Assurance.
- Ensure that Company health, safety and environment (HSE) policies are adhered to and are responsible for Human Factor concepts and SMS concepts and its practices and implementation.
- Manage the safety risks in maintenance operations and to ensure Safety Management System for Engineering and Maintenance is practiced and adhered to.
- Ensure that maintenance facility, staff and related procedures satisfy the requirements of regulatory authority including submission of extensions to the terms of approval.
- Authorize concessions for the use of non-standard materials or repairs within the terms of approval by the Airworthiness authority.
- Ensure that all developments of the company’s engineering capabilities comply to the relevant DGCAR -EASA and other NAA’S authorities requirements and that, any overhaul repair, modifications, tests, inspections of components is allowed when all relevant manuals, service bulletins, modification standards, mandatory documents, tools, training as required by the manufacturer are obtained.
- Ensure Audit findings raised against different auditees including Quality Assurance department are rectified, responded and closed in all respects within the targeted time period.
- Ensuring that Quality Assurance activities are adequate for the future growth of Oman Air services.
- To review the organizations technical procedures and systems to ensure compatibility with changes in industry standards and statutory requirements.
- Plan, organize, co-ordinate and control and conduct Technical Training to the Engineering staff to standard required by the Airworthiness Authority and the Company.
- Monitor and audit Technical Records System to ensure that all work performed is correctly recorded, controlled in accordance with DGCAR requirements.
- Ensure suppliers supply of Technical spares and materials comply with DGCAR Oman regulations.

Requirements

Bachelor degree in Engineering preferably Aeronautical/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronic OR Aircraft Maintenance Licence with 12 years of relevant experience preferably in in airline maintenance environment of which out of which at least 7 years in Quality Assurance/ Regulatory experience is mandatory and 4 years in a Managerial level. Master degree in he related field will be advantage.
