Job description / Role
Our client is a leading Integrated Facilities Management company based in Oman. They are seeking for Senior Manager - Strategy (Facilities Management), the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the company’s strategic initiatives to drive growth, innovation, and operational excellence. Also, he will work closely with the executive leadership team to define and implement strategies that align with the company’s vision, goals, and market opportunities.
The role will involve analysing industry trends, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring the company’s long-term competitiveness and sustainability in the facilities management sector. The role will also involve identifying and capitalizing on opportunities in the utilities and hard FM markets, optimizing service delivery, and ensuring the company's long-term success in these critical sectors.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Development
- Lead the development of the company’s strategic plan, working closely with executive leadership to define long-term objectives, growth targets, and market positioning.
- Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats within the facilities management industry, providing insights to guide strategic decision-making.
- Develop and present strategic recommendations, business cases, and action plans to senior management, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall vision and goals.
Utilities Sector Focus
- Identify and evaluate opportunities within the Utilities sector, including energy management, water treatment, waste management, and sustainability initiatives.
- Collaborate with the operations and business development teams to design and implement utility management solutions that meet client needs and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor industry developments and regulatory changes in the Utilities sector, ensuring the company remains compliant and competitive.
Hard Facilities Management (Hard FM):
- Oversee the development and execution of strategies related to Hard FM services, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) maintenance, HVAC systems, building management systems (BMS), and other technical services.
- Drive innovation in Hard FM by exploring new technologies, materials, and processes that improve service efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance client satisfaction.
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure the effective delivery of Hard FM services, optimizing resource utilization and service quality.
Business Growth and Development (other FM areas):
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including market expansions, diversification strategies, and potential mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
- Collaborate with business development, sales, and operations teams to explore and implement growth initiatives, including entering new markets, launching new services, and forming strategic partnerships.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of growth strategies and initiatives, adjusting as required to achieve desired outcomes.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Support innovation within the company by identifying and promoting new technologies, processes, and best practices that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging collaboration, creativity, and experimentation across the organization.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, industry associations, and regulatory bodies, to stay informed of industry developments and enhance the company’s market position.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings.
- Communicate the company’s strategic vision, goals, and progress to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment across the organization.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Collaborate with other departments and cross-functional teams to ensure that strategic initiatives are effectively integrated into the company’s operations and business processes.
- Foster a high-performance culture within the strategy team, encouraging collaboration, accountability, and a focus on achieving strategic objectives.
- Support Chief Commercial Officer and Commercial team in various projects, tenders, and other initiatives as directed from time to time.
Requirements:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in business administration/management/finance. MBA is preferred.
- 8-10 years of experience in strategic planning, business development, or a related role within the facilities management industry or a similar service-based sector.
- Strong understanding of the Utilities and Hard FM sectors, including market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends.
- Previous experience is leading a team.
- International exposure and out of the box thinker
- IT systems familiarity.
- Excellent skills on MS Office particularly Excel and Power Point
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to understand & interpret complex financial & legal agreements/transactions.
- Innovative & smart approach with problem solving, good verbal & drafting skills.
- Strong IT skills across the full range of business applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience of ERP or CRM platforms (Oracle or Microsoft CRM or SAP would be beneficial).
