Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The basic function of this position is to monitor and direct the day-to-day activities and operations of Fleet Maintenance; coordinates maintenance and repair of vehicles by scheduling technicians and coordinating assigned activities with other departments. Oversees the performance of skilled tasks in the servicing, repair and maintenance equipment and vehicles; oversee the inventory and procurement of all applicable parts, supplies, tools, and equipment needed; develops and distributes work plan assignments and ensures completion. Maintains data base, prepares reports and supervises fleet personnel.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Plan, assign, supervise, review and participate in the inspection, repair, diagnosis and location of all mechanical difficulties on city automobiles, trucks, and a variety of gasoline and diesel powered maintenance and construction equipment for scheduled and unscheduled mechanical repairs and maintenance activities.
• Perform all location and procurement of applicable parts and equipment for repair and maintenance; maintain inventory of supplies and equipment. Complete purchase orders, review invoices for accuracy, ensure proper levels of inventory are received.
• Develop and distribute daily work plan assignments and ensure completion; train, motivate and evaluate assigned personnel; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; recommend disciplinary and hiring decisions and communicate city information to personnel.
• Inspect and test equipment repairs to monitor proper functioning; ensure customer satisfaction
• Oversee and participate in performing tune-ups on vehicles and equipment; repair air conditioning systems; service transmissions; troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on city vehicles and equipment; inspects and prepares
• Vehicles for State Vehicle and DOT inspections; responds to road calls and makes repairs in the field; perform welding, fabrication and tooling in repairs of shop equipment, city facilities, light and heavy equipment. Install emergency/safety lighting, special equipment, tool boxes and other necessary equipment.
• Ensure and participates in the diagnoses the repair and replacement of components including electrical systems, computerized ignition, fuel and analog systems, hydraulic, air brake and computerized anti-lock braking systems, hydraulic high pressure cylinder, valves pumps and related components.
• Assists in developing and administering the Fleet Maintenance budget; compiles data and reports as requested for vehicle/equipment allocation and replacement; monitor fleet expenditures.
• Maintains files and records for fleet services; reviews documents for accuracy, researches discrepancies, updates records and information as appropriate.
• Operate assigned equipment in a safe and efficient manner and according to established policies and procedures.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

• Responsible in exercising due diligence towards health & safety of self & others in the organization
• Responsible to comply with the applicable HSE procedures, instructions, requirements, standards received from regulatory and statutory bodies
• Responsible for reporting to superior occurrences, events, violations and acts that may impact staff health and safety or the environment

• Performs preventive maintenance activities as per instructions.
• Performs denting & painting activities as per instruction.
• Performs corrective activities and repairs as per instructions.
• Maintenance and repair of all equipment’s in timely manner

Requirements

• Minimum of Technical Diploma
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in related field

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Fluent in English
• Arabic/Indian as a second language is an advantage
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge in nature of the job
• Ability to work under harsh conditions
