Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To develop process safety requirements for new and existing facilities.
• Perform the verification activities for process safety critical equipment & systems.
• Review plot plan from HSE & loss prevention point of view to make sure that the equipment is located and spaced safely.
• Provide critical review on passive fire protection specifications & data sheets, active fire protection specifications & data sheets as required.
• Carryout Inspections & performance witness test, factory acceptance test (FAT) for all safety critical equipment at supplier fabrication premises as required.
• Conducts Third Party Design Reviews, Equipment performance test witness inspection, Construction supervision, pre-commissioning & commissioning and start-up.
• Technical bids evaluations, review vendor prints, pre-commissioning, commissioning & start-up for the above mentioned equipment & systems
• Carryout Inspections & performance witness test, factory acceptance test (FAT) for all safety critical equipment at supplier fabrication premises as required.
• Review project’s scope & procedures and design basis / criteria
• Keep up to date with international codes & standards and safety literature.
• Provides expert advice and assistance to design, construction and maintenance engineers and operating personnel on all matters pertaining to safety engineering.
• Lead Safety engineering reviews of fire & safety designs of mega projects. This includes; FEED stage reviews, detailed design reviews, 3D Model reviews…etc.
• Support in the preparation, reviews, and analysis of quantitative risk assessments, building risk assessments, and facility siting studies
• Participate in major and moderate process incident investigations
• Provision of advanced expert advice on optimal protection system by reviewing the operation, performance and layers of protection concept.
• Ensure to Work safely and think proactively about personal safety and safety of others at work
• Actively participate in, contribute to, and promote company occupational health, safety, security and environment culture.
• Ensure work is carried out in accordance with the Company HSE and Security policies and procedures and meet company HSE goals and targets, and participate in HSE programs.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Engineering with professional certification in process safety OR General Science Graduate with studies in Loss Prevention and professional Certification/License in process safety.
• Certified HAZOP Team Leader
• Fully conversed with latest risk management techniques.
• Fully conversed with International HSE codes in particular risk assessment & risk management, COMAH & HSEIA.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in the oil & petrochemical process safety industry.
• Professional certification in process safety/loss prevention by a recognized certifying organization.
• Fully conversant with industry standards and practices relevant to process design and safety
• Demonstrated passion in engineering and shows strong attributes; e.g. attention to detail, initiative, highly organized, good math / analytical skills and practical use of engineering principles
• A highly motivated team player with effective communication and interpersonal skills
