Senior Production Engineer

Job Description/Major Duties (general job functions, responsibilities, day-to-day tasks & activities)
The Senior Production Engineer responsibilities will include production engineering support for heavy oil/steam flood operations, well monitoring and optimization for heavy oil production maximization, steam pattern surveillance, recommendations and implementation, completion troubleshooting and optimization. Steam injection optimization and scheduling is a major responsibility of this position.

The Senior Production Engineer job responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Design, selection and troubleshooting of artificial lift methods including progressive cavity pumps, beam pump and electric submersible pump installation.
• SCADA monitoring and surveillance to optimize production.
• Well service work direction including cased hole logging, hoist work and other data gathering.
• Work closely with geoscientists, reservoir engineering and operations to optimize field steam injection.
• Manage well and heat surveillance program for a multi-layer, multi-pattern steam flood.
• Monitor daily production performance and recommend remedial actions.
• Direct production and injection allocation activities in a monthly basis.

Requirements

Requirements (Minimum education required, background, experience, skills)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Petroleum Engineering.
• Experience in production engineering is required.
• Knowledge in heavy oil and thermal operations and reservoir monitoring techniques is required.
• Knowledge of OFM (Oilfield Manager) software is required.
• Knowledge of artificial lift including Beam Pump, PCP and ESP is required.
• Good PC skills.
• Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
