Turner/Machinist

Job description / Role

• Assist the Workshop Engineer in smooth Erection and commissioning of the machine tools like Lathe ,Boring Etc,
• Can install and Align Rotors on the Lathe machines / install and Align stator components on Boring / Milling Machines.
• Can carry out the machining jobs to the required accuracy. Can interpret relevant Engineering drawings and Procedures.
• Can design/machine/Fabricate small jigs and fixtures to suit the job requirement.
• Can select and maintain cutting tools. Assist in maintenance and calibration of the Machine tools. Help implement safe working practices
• Can assist Balancing Engineer in Balancing Jobs, and Workshop Engineer in Fitting /QA-QC jobs as per the requirement.
• Ensuring smooth job execution in coordination with Balancing Engr and QA/QC Engr. Handling customer inspections

Requirements

• Post High school –Vocational training course as an industrial fitter/machinist /tradesman.
• 8 years or more hands on experience, preferably with a reputed international Turbomachinery Company
• Good English communication skills- oral and written.
• Can perform machining operation on Lathe , Boring , Milling Drilling as applied to Turbomachinery components repair
• Desirable- Knowledge of working on CNC machines using standard CNC programming.
• Desirable- Additional knowledge of assembly / disassembly/repair of Turbomachinery Components like Rotors and Stators.
• Desirable -Knowledge of mech/elect/instrumentation maintenance of machine tools.
• Desirable-experience in inspection of Turbomachinery components and Balancing. Knowledge of repairs cost estimation
