Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Position Purpose Statement

Responsible for managing the end to end accounting and external reporting including statutory reporting of Middle East (UAE / Bahrain entities ), lead indirect tax (VAT) compliance, consolidate Middle East results, reporting of group submissions and ensure robust controlling & compliance framework.

Primary Accountabilities / Responsibilities

- Ensure accurate and timely financial statements and related analyses, both internal and external, in line with applicable regulatory and corporate requirements (supported by MBS organization)
- Ensure the month end close process is in line with group & local reporting guidelines, liaise with MBS to ensure all entries are complete and accurate including monitoring KPI's to ensure compliance with SLAs. Ensure the issues escalated from the MBS employees on day to day activities and ad hoc requests are resolved
- Consolidate Middle East results and manage all group submission and adhoc information requests.
- Ensure proper and timely development and updates of internal accounting and controlling policies and procedures, ensure their compliance to business requirements, local legislation, US GAAP and internal MDLZ standards. Ensure that Corporate Governance is in place.
- Manage all indirect tax matters for the unit through the implementation of efficient tax management strategies while meeting all tax reporting obligations.
- Manage Direct Tax accounting and reporting based on Mondelēz reporting policies and framework.
- Manage statutory FS preparation in line with IFRS and statutory audit as per agreed timelines.
- Closely partner with MBS organization in order for MBS to deliver agreed KPIs in Finance controlling area.
- Partner with business colleagues to drive accurate accounting and reporting
- Be the single point of contact for day to day administration, governance and troubleshooting with business partners (Genpact / Accenture )
- Promote a sound and robust internal control environment.
- Build and coach the subordinates / team to ensure that strong professionals are in place and motivated to drive company efficiency in delivering results.
- Leads the assigned projects.

Requirements

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

Knowledge including: education, qualifications and training

- Professional degree in Finance, Accounting ( Preferably a Chartered Accountant)
- Deep expert knowledge of Statutory Accounting (IFRS)
- Deep knowledge of VAT laws and regulations and accounting

Experience & Language requirement

- 6-10 years of experience Accounting and external reporting preferably in international business environment, good knowledge of VAT and direct tax accounting
- Strong knowledge and experience in working with financial systems example: SAP, Excel, Hyperion Financial Management etc
- Good communication and strong people management skills ,bias for action etc.
