JOB SUMMARY

In this key role, the construction manager provides leadership and management in all aspects of contract execution of the power plant project. Activities include detailed project planning, team management and leadership, budget control, cash flow management, contract management, risk management/mitigation, scheduling and reporting.

Responsibilities:

Contract Management
- Responsible for the management of contract from construction start to project close-out.

Operational Management
- Diligently monitor and manage the construction of the project to ensure that it is executed as planned in terms of Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Budget;
- Monitor and manage overall schedule of the plant construction in accordance with the contract.
- Monitor and manage the implementation of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) procedures, instructions, and other requirements;

Project Cost Accounting/Budget Management
- Monitor and manage timely submission and reconciliation of submitted progress billing/claims including collection.
- Regular review and management of project cost incurred versus budget;

Risk Management
- Report project variances in a timely manner and propose mitigation or alternative solutions; ensuring that agreed corrective actions are planned and implemented.
- Recognize and manage negative trends as well as potential commercial and technical execution risks to improve overall margins on the project while maintaining focus on customer satisfaction in terms of safety, quality, time, and cost;

Safety
- Implement health, safety, and environmental measures on site in accordance with the company, customer, local, and industry HSE policies and practices;

Supervision
- Create and maintain staffing plan to support the current and future work demands and project deliverables.
- Allocate appropriate resources to ensure that the project is completed in accordance with the schedule and project budget
- Able to lead in the coaching and mentoring of team members so as to help them achieve individual expectations and deliverables.
- Support policies, standards, and procedures necessary to produce the deliverables from the team and to work effectively with the other teams/departments;

Communication/Coordination
- Maintain communication with upper management both within and across organizations to ensure timely compliance with project requirements.
- Provide management with regular project status reports detailing commercial and technical status, progress, risks and opportunities;
- Coordinate closely with the Owner regarding any requested changes in scope or design and ensures that agreed changes are quickly communicated to all affected groups;

Document Management
- Prepare reports of activities and participates in site meetings as required
- Ensure documents are prepared in accordance with standards from project start to close-out.

Technical Effectiveness
- Initiate and implement new technologies, methodologies, process, and procedures that will support the SBU’s long and short-term goals; and
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education
- Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in CE, ME, EE, ECE

Experience
- With a minimum of 10 years related work experience; 5 years of which were spent in a managerial capacity, should possess an outstanding leadership skill and should be able to deal effectively with employees on all level of the organization

Trainings Required (but not as a condition for hiring):
- Job Orientation
- ISO/QMS Orientation
- Required Trainings in Safety

Certification Required
- Licensed CE, ME, EE, ECE
