Employment: Full Time

My Client is the Project Management Consultant on a huge new infrastructure project near Manila.

They have a vacancy for a Basic Engineering and Marine Works Package Manager who shall lead and coordinate the Basic, Preliminary and Detailed Engineering, related to dredging & land filling and marine structures.

This position reports directly to the General Manager.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Lead and coordinate the team’s evaluation of project documents submitted by the Basic Engineering, Preliminary Engineering and Detailed Engineering Consultants and Contractors
• Lead and coordinate in evaluating the sand search study reports ensuring there is sufficient sand volume and quality to meet the estimated fill volume for platforms for the airport development
• Coordinate and supervise the preparation of the schedules, implementation plan and engineering (basic, preliminary & detailed) including methodology of works for dredging, transportation, land filling of platforms & embankments and thereafter soil improvement
• Lead and coordinate in the arrangement for soil/rock investigation works, review the report including evaluation of the suitable rock for shore protection materials
• Lead and coordinate the preparation of implementation plan and act on setting up of the Quarry Plant
• Lead and coordinate the arrangement & coordination for Parcellary, Topographical and Hydrographic surveys and also retrieving LIDAR survey to ensure available for the Preliminary & Detailed Engineering
• Lead and coordinate the arrangement for river cross section survey, ensuring the survey report is completed in time for the Preliminary Engineering
• Lead and coordinate in arrangement for Hydraulic, Hydrology and other Marine Studies required
• Lead and coordinate in reviewing the Hydraulic, Hydrology and other Marine Studies’ reports and ensure they are in order for incorporation into Airport Project design such as embankment, rock armor sizes, platform level determination, drainages layout, etc.
• Lead and coordinate in arrangement for required soil investigations. Lead and coordinate in review the soil investigation reports
• Review progress report submitted by engineering consultants, soil investigations contractor, surveyors, etc.
• Ensure progress, reports, and forecast /target milestones’ dates as agreed are complied
• Lead and coordinate the preparation of SWISS Challenge and Tender Documents by Consultants.

Requirements

The candidate must satisfy the following requirements:
• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• A total of twenty (20) years of professional experience with ten (10) years in marine construction and/or land reclamation works
• Demonstrated ability to deliver and complete projects of similar scale and complexity
• Strong knowledge of international or Philippine construction standards and marine engineering standards
• Very strong people and time management skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Good written and oral communication skills in English
