Continued award of global projects across Asia Pacific, the US, Canada and Europe has created this opportunity as a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator with our client, an international commercial stone contracting firm from Canada Projects typically comprise casinos, hotels, museums and other commercial projects. This role as Quantity Surveyor / Estimator is responsible for preparing budgetary estimates from sketch drawings, Bill of Quantities for all disciplines and Costs Estimates for various global projects.

Reporting to the Team Leader – Quantity Surveying, this role is responsible for the following:
• Prepare various Quantity Surveying documents including budgetary estimates from sketch drawings, Bill of Quantities for all disciplines and Costs Estimates.
• Liaise with Project Directors and attend Tender procedures and prepare Tender Reports.
• Prepare award of contracts, checks contract documents as well as make recommendations of contractor’s valuations.
• Provide assistance to Team Leader – Quantity Surveying.
• Evaluate variations and handle contractual correspondences.
• Attend progress meetings and provide updates to Client with projection of costs as required.
• Prepare evaluations/ cost projections of the assignment to meet requirements of works in progress
• Collation of information for monthly statement which includes but not limited to recommendation on interim payments, statement of claims from contractor, anticipated claims from contractor and assessment of costs of works and expected final cost.
• Prepare variation orders and record information on claims/variations.
• Perform cost analysis and draw up reports on changes to works and contractor’s claims.
• Assist to prepare and approve contractor’s final accounts.
• Assist in any contracts administration duties related to quantity surveying.

Requirements

• Degree in Construction, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or comparable with RCIS qualification being highly regarded.
• Candidates should be familiar with all aspects of stone fabrication and fit out works as well as knowledge of natural stone quarries globally.
• Candidates should be familiar with pricing of different tenders i.e. fixed price tender, re-measured tender, design and build tender etc.
• To be familiar with various international stone standards and methods.
• Candidates should have knowledge of shipping and other general international Tax structures.
• Computer literacy and be fully conversant on preparation of spreadsheets with knowledge of Estimation proprietary software being an advantage
• Philippine Nationals only
• Bilingual skills in English / Filipino is required.
