Our newest opportunity is for a talented Project Engineer - Waste to join our award-winning team based in Porto, Portugal.

Reporting directly to a Project Manager in our award winning Sustainability and Environment Division, this role is responsible for support on various landfill construction supervision, design and waste management related projects across the Middle East and potentially further abroad.

Responsibilities

We envisage success in this role to include:

- Develop and execute landfill Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) plans through site supervision of new landfill and remediation/closure projects
- Act as the 3rd party site representative for landfill construction works, including Contractor management, reporting requirements and construction supervision
- Undertake design works (drawings and 3D modelling) relating to landfill, lagoon, remediation and earthworks in accordance with applicable legislation and guidelines, as well as local conditions
- Plan, organize and undertake landfill design and waste management related analysis, research and reporting as required
- Undertake engineering calculations relating to landfill design (geosynthetics, hydrology, geotechnical stability, etc.) and waste management planning (waste generation modelling)
- Compile CQA verification reports as well as engineering design and waste management strategy reports and presentations
- Develop design related tender documentation, including Bill of Quantities (BoQ), specifications and CQA Plan
- Assist in generating and following up on business opportunities in various locations where required by the Division

Requirements

Qualifications

- To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 8 years experience partnered with a BSc or BEng - Civil/Environmental. Consultancy experience in landfill/waste containment design and remediation, and knowledge of waste management principles and strategic waste management planning is advantageous.
