Our newest opportunity is for a Senior Project Engineer - Sustainability to join our award-winning team based in Porto, Portugal .

This role is responsible for supporting projects and clients to improve their sustainability performance and achieve high green certification ratings.

Responsibilities

We envisage success in this role to include:

- Organizing and delivering sustainable real-estate certification during conceptual design and delivery.
- Attending Client meetings as needed on behalf of the wider sustainability and environmental team.
- Working directly on design and consultancy deliverables including technical reports and supporting calculations.
- Subject to the background of the individual, supporting/leading Carbon Credits services, Agência para an Energia (ADENE) compliance, EU Taxonomy Climate Delegated Act compliance, GRI in Portuguese market compliance.
- Ensuring existing quality control, quality assurance, submittal protocols, and document flow procedures are followed and successfully implemented.
- Communicating in Portuguese with our clients and in English with our international teams.

Requirements

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 5 to 10 years' work experience partnered with a Bachelor degree in Architectural or Engineering. Knowledge of working on green certifications and submission procedures as per US Green Building Council and BRE requirements will be considered beneficial.

Knowledgeable of the environmental and sustainability market in Portugal and able to communicate excellent English as a native Portuguese speaker.

Candidates having LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) or BREEAM Accredited Professional will have added advantage.

Also following additional skills will be considered favorably:

- Understanding and working knowledge of carbon markets in Portugal and/or within the EU.
- Agência para an Energia (ADENE) - Sistema de Certificação Energética dos Edifícios.
- Normas GRI Certificação.
- Working experience with 'Lei de Bases da Política do Clima' and the 'EU taxonomy for sustainable activities'.
