Accounts Assistant

Job description / Role

- Encoding and recording of invoices and credits on a daily basis, obtaining appropriate data to ensure they are correct and investigating discrepancies and reporting on any variances.
- Assist in bank statement reconciliations (Sales and Suppliers).
- Debt collection – proactive approach to debtors with monitoring and collecting.
- Bank receipt allocation, banking of incoming cheques and cash allocation.
- Maintain and update customer information. Preparation of documents related to banks and banking (Daily deposit Slips, Payments, cheques etc.).
- Assist the verification of inventory. Managing petty cash transactions and staff expenses.
- Handling communications with clients and suppliers via phone, email, and in person.
- Assisting with audits.

Requirements

- Minimum University degree in Accounting & Commerce
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 year experience in an accounting environment
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and in particular EXCEL skills.
- Good business communication skills
- The candidate must be well versed with computers, making daily logs, and emailing clients.
- Must be locally available, with a transferable visa (NOC)
