Job description / Role
Architect Coordination Manager (Rail) - Qatar
Linum Consult’s client is major consultancy operating in the Middle East. Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking an Architect Coordination Manager specialising in Railway or Metro construction projects to join their team in Qatar.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Managing all the design and site work of all permanent Architectural works across a number of metro and railway lines
• Acting on behalf of the company to ensure that the Architectural Employers Requirements and the “look and feel” of architectural branding are implemented
• Liaising with technical experts within the company and with external stakeholders
• Managing the PMC and D&B contractor
• Reviewing and submitting detailed commentary on all technical submissions based on the latest design developments/specifications of the D&B contractors, such as BIM, drawings, reports, material submissions, etc.
• Participating in the review and decision-making processes
• Checking design documents for completeness, constructability, areas of significant cost reduction, compliance with design intent, and completeness of information
• Coordinating between Architectural and MEP design activities and deliverables
• Providing recommendations on RFI/RFCs issued by the design & build contractor
• Ensuring the interfaces are registered, tracked, and dealt with through an interface management system
Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering
• At least 10 years’ experience working in the construction industry, with a strong background in rail projects and architectural metro stations design
• Excellent technical knowledge of BIM and 3D parametric modelling
• Demonstrable history of using AutoCAD, BIM, Sketch-up, 3Ds Max, V-Ray render, Maxwell render and MS Office
• Strong technical knowledge of construction regulations and international standards
• Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills
