Asset Management Consultant (SCADA System)

Job description / Role

- Provide expert technical advice to the DNO&M Manager / Head of Section as appropriate in all activities relating to the SCADA System in the Drainage Network Management Systems and associated components
- Monitor, support, advise and evolve the SCADA System in the Drainage Network Management Systems (DNMS) necessary to ensure reliable 24/7 operation and continual improvement.
- Highlight anomalies, risks, and issues to the DNMC supervisor and provide expert advice.
- Advise and participate in the management and resolution of issues that may impact DNO&M services.
- Review the issues to understand root causes and mitigation measures that can be implemented to limit future occurrences.
- Prepare tender specifications, documents, cost estimates, budgets, improvement and operation & maintenance contracts for SCADA Systems.
- Prepare specification & best practices related to SCADA control systems.
- Engage with appropriate forums on the developments and findings of drainage network operations and control to embed good practice within DNO&M
- Keep current with latest market trends and developments, and stay abreast with current trends and leading practices in Drainage Network Management System design/ approaches/ tools to contribute to Continual Improvement of the DNMS.
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety Policy and Procedures and comply with any new work instructions

Requirements

- Minimum of 20+ years’ experience in the specialist area including 15 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Knowledge of Drainage Network Management Systems (e.g. SCADA, Analytics, Communications, Archiving, Networking, Maintenance Management, Customer Relationship Management, Vehicle Tracking, Billing)
- Knowledge of Sewer and TSE networks including pump stations and treatment facilities
- Specialist knowledge of integrating SCADA Systems of leading PLC & SCADA Manufacturers such as Schneider, Siemens, and GEF anuc , etc.
- Specialist knowledge of SCADA industry protocols and Field Bus communication standards such as DNP3, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, Profibus, Profinet, SNMP, TCP/IP, BACnet, DeviceNET, FactoryTalk, CAN Bus, OPC
