Job description / Role
Asset Management Expert – Qatar
Linum Consult’s client is a major international company working within the energy sector. They are currently in the process of expanding and are seeking an Asset Management Expert to be based in their office in Qatar.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Managing the strategic operation and maintenance of power/energy assets to ensure optimal performance and longevity
• Conducting lifecycle optimisation, root cause analyses, asset performance, reliability, BoP, commercial PPAs, business planning, etc.
• Assuring sustained excellence in risk management, operations, environmental health & safety, commercial, and financial performance for all assigned assets
• Supporting the deployment and use of innovative processes and technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of asset performance
• Managing the lifecycle optimisation activities of the local asset portfolio across the development, operations, life extension and decommissioning phases, focusing on maximising value and sustainability
• Monitoring and reporting on KPIs and other metrics to evaluate asset performance, identifying and addressing any deficiencies
• Conducting root cause analyses for underperforming assets, developing and implementing recommendations to improve performance, in alignment with the Asset Management department’s strategic guidance
• Maintaining and fostering relationships with key local stakeholders, regulators, and industry leaders to support business opportunities and ensure regulatory compliance
Requirements:
PROFILE
• Degree qualification in Engineering, with an emphasis in Energy or Power. Ideally have a second degree in Business Administration
• At least 10-12 years’ experience within the energy/power industry, working for large, multinational companies
• Strong understanding of renewable energy assets (solar, wind, hydro, etc.) or general power generation assets (CCGT, coal-fired plants, etc.)
• Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts
• Previous experience working in Qatar or other GCC countries is preferred
• Fluent in spoken and written English
