Assets Manager – Qatar

Linum Consult’s client is currently in the process of expanding and are seeking an Assets Manager with a background in renewable energy assets to join their team in Qatar.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing and optimising the portfolio of renewable energy assets, ensuring they meet strategic investment criteria and performance benchmarks
• Developing strategies to maximise the performance and value of renewable assets, including solar, wind, hydro, and other technologies
• Managing the entire lifecycle of renewable energy assets from acquisition, operational management, and maintenance, to decommissioning, focusing on maximising return on investment and sustainability
• Performing detailed financial analyses and projections for renewable assets, calculating key financial metrics such as the Internal Rate of Return and ensuring alignment with the company’s financial objectives
• Ensuring all renewable assets comply with local, national, and international regulations, including environmental, safety, and energy standards
• Implementing systems to continuously monitor and report on the performance of renewable assets, using data to inform management decisions and strategic adjustments.

• Degree qualification in Finance, Engineering, or Economics, ideally with an MBA
• At least 10 years’ experience in a similar role within a large multinational company, with a minimum of 4 years in a managerial role
• Excellent understanding of power/energy and water sectors, particular renewable assets, emerging trends, technologies, and key players
• Fluent in spoken and written English, ideally with some Arabic language skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage with key stakeholders, senior executives, management teams, and external partners/advisors
• Previous experience of working in Qatar and/or other Gulf countries.
