Job description / Role
Our Qatari, services based client, is in the process of hiring an AVP level professional within their group finance function in Doha.
Reporting to the VP of Finance and managing four direct reports, you will take ownership of all financial management and accounting related matters across the business entity. You will also ensure the appropriate financial reporting and compliance related controls are in place, linking to both regulatory and internal governance. This reporting function will be overseen in conjunction with the management of transactional accounting, linked to payables and receivables, to ensure sufficient funding, cash-flows and capital adequacy requirements.
In addition, you will be responsible for the closure of financial statements, at month-end and quarter-end, aligned to IAS & IFRS policies, whilst liaising with head office finance to set budgets and financial planning parameters.
Requirements
The successful candidate should be a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA) with a thorough and recent track record within the property and service sector. You should be able to demonstrate a strong grasp of operational and industry best practices. It is essential you have at least 5 to 7 years demonstrable experience, whereby a management capability can be introduced for succession planning purposes. The client also has a distinct preference for a Big Four trained candidate.
