Associate: Capital Markets

Job description / Role

Help the Capital Markets Team

- Structure and execute capital markets transactions across asset classes, with a focus on equity
- Assess investment, financing and hedging opportunities globally and on various underlyings, i.e. equity, fixed income, foreign exchange
- Assist other departments, and interact with other company's departments (Legal, Operations) to ensure smooth structuring, execution, and post-trade

Key Accountabilities
- Help execute capital markets transactions, with a focus on equity, e.g. execution of cash equity orders
- Help assess investment opportunities, financing and hedging proposals through in-depth qualitative and quantitative analysis, which includes financial modelling / pricing. Such potential transactions are mainly capital markets related, across various asset classes with a focus on equity
- Prepare presentations and memos in relation with potential and existing investments, and macro / capital markets themes
- Help structure contemplated transactions and liaise with internal departments (Legal, Compliance, Tax) that are engaged to assist with potential transactions
- Liaise with Operations / Finance to ensure a perfect execution of the transactions
- Attend investment idea meetings (both internal and external)
- Assist in monitoring, reporting and evaluating performance of executed transactions
- Assist in preparing daily reports, ad hoc / strategic reviews, audits and other such related tasks

Requirements

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics or Physics

Minimum Experience
- 3-4 years, ideally gained by working as a Sales Trader / Corporate Broking senior analyst or junior associate at a reputable investment bank
- Opportunity for successful candidate to build on his/her cash equity expertise and develop his/her knowledge across asset classes (such as equity derivatives, fixed income)

Job-Specific Skills
- Very good understanding and working knowledge of equity capital markets executions (cash equity)
- Strong quantitative skills. Knowledge of derivatives a plus
- Fast learner and genuine interest to be trained and work on different asset classes
- High level of accuracy and precision in working
- Good presentation skills, oral and written communication skills
- Excellent team work and strong interpersonal skills
