AutoCAD Draftsperson - Curtain Wall / Facade Designer, Doha Qatar
Inhabit is involved in a wide range of projects across the commercial, residential, government and health sectors, working with a variety of clients, including well known architects, builders and developers.
Our recently established office in Doha, Qatar is undertaking new projects with some of Doha’s most prestigious and well respected architecture firms and clients. Due to continued growth, we now have a newly created position for a Facade Designer to join our close-knit team, reporting to our Regional Manager in Qatar.
This role will see you produce and develop different facade systems and details whilst also developing your own personal skills in design, engineering and materials. Responsibilities will include:
• Provide 2D drafting using AutoCAD software in delivering Shop Drawing packages for Facade/Curtain wall Projects and prepare material schedules
• Produce details of facade systems based on architectural sketches
• Assist in the delivery of detailed facade tender packages
• Liaise with Inhabit staff in our overseas offices, build and maintain internal relationships
• Review and evaluate design deliverables to ensure build ability and compliance, liaising with the client’s design team and specialist suppliers
• Develop own skills in design, engineering, materials, etc.
• Manage time to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget
• Maintain internal document control of drawings
• Coordinate with the relevant parties to raise/resolve project related issues which could affect the delivery of the documentation
Requirements
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Facade / Curtain Wall detailing & drafting in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)
• Experience in providing 2D drafting using AutoCAD software in delivering Shop drawing packages / Architectural tender drawing packages for Facade/Curtain wall Projects
• Degree or diploma holder of mechanical / civil / structural engineering or Building Design (Architectural)
• Knowledge of Steel, Aluminium and Glass is required with proven experience within the Gulf Cooperation Council region
• Fabrication/Assembly drawing knowledge
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Knowledge of 3D design software (Rhino, Sketch-Up, etc.)
• Ability to communicate professionally (written and verbal)
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Desired Skills and Experience
• Fabrication/Assembly drawing knowledge
• Knowledge of 3D geometrical analysis (Grasshopper, Excel, etc.)
• Knowledge of graphic software (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
• Experience in fabrication drawing packages and completing 3D drawings using AutoCAD ideal
