Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

ACCIONA is looking for a person to provide support in preparation, implementation and operation of all aspects of all audio visual, interactive, display and presentation technologies.
- Manage the on-site AV Team
- Provide onsite engineering services including installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic communication systems including but not limited, audio visual, projection, pro audio, video, networks associated with AV exhibition installation.

Task & responsibilities (including but not limited to):

General for the Project Team
- Responsible to implement the assigned part of the work and to help managing staff
- Completes work packages or activities and helps look for deviations from the project management plan
- Helps in identifying and involving stakeholders, identifying their requirements,
- Identifies constrains and assumptions
- Helps in creating Work Breakdown Structure, WBS, decompose the work packages of his responsibility, into Schedule activities, helps identifying dependencies between activities,
- Provide time and cost estimates,
- Participate in the risk management process,
- Comply with the quality and communication plans, conducts process improvement
- Execute the project management plan to accomplish the work defined in the project scope of work
- Attend project team meetings

Specific

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT PHASE
- Takes a part in a kick off meeting to prepare the project for implementation: coordinates with the Engineering author team of the tender specs; reviews the project documentation, clarifying design and equipment issues and agree an immediate course of action based upon the project schedule, and immediate contract needs.
- Study on the adequacy of the technical solutions and their suitability to the design.
- Coordination with the design manager, production manager and with the subcontractors of hardware and other suppliers
- Indirect engineering responsibility for the project, reporting to the Team Manager.
- Prepares a list of deliverables for information and equipment ; agrees with the Contract Manager, develops internal detailed workload schedule and programme.
- Meets with the project team, define individual responsibilities, and delegate immediate tasks, including site-cabling schedules, design details and procurement checks.
- Identifies the information, support and services required from other trades, and to establish report procedures and site-specific training requirements.
- Examines site drawings to establish interferences with other disciplines such as sprinklers, electrical services and mechanical services, advices regarding the conflicts, and coordinate with the Contract Manager and act pro-actively to avoid such conflicts or resolve them in an expedient and cost effective manner.
- Pursues design approval, responsible for liaison with the Production Department to ensure the project in schedule.
- Supervises the production of Installation drawings, in consultation with the Site Manager, referring to site drawings and site details.
- Liaison with Hardware Site Manager for the site schedules and procedures.
- Attends site meetings and design meetings, accompanies the Site Manager during the site surveys.
- Follow-up of the technical development of the project

Coordination of prototypes
- Assistance in mockup of the particularly difficult elements of a system, which have not been tested in the past, to prove the concept in the early stages of a project to head off any potential problems prior to installation on site and ensure that a solution is integrated with the works of other contractors, and agreed with the client.

Programming, User Interfaces. Testing.
- Help in defining end user expectances regarding the user interfaces such as touch panel layouts, the site monitoring and control system, to allow other elements of the system to be designed to fully meet the user’s expectations and allow the AV hardware team to programme the systems in time for in-house testing, and debugging.
- Assistance in testing of any specific hardware during software development. To assure that software to be tested on the full system is delivered to the hardware supplier on time
- Witness the factory acceptance tests during in – house Building of systems, to prototype solutions and testing new ideas.

Procurement.
- Authorize and monitor the procurement of the AV equipment for the project by the hardware company; supervise delivery schedule.

Site Installation.
- Supervision of the installation of AV and software in situ. Assists during the three phases of the site installation: the first fix installation work during the site construction period which comprehends cable installation, bracketry first fix and cable termination / the ‘clean site’ installation during the time of general finishes and site cleaning and comprehends the installation of dirt sensitive equipment such as speakers, monitors and equipment racks / The commissioning, testing, alignment and pre-programming of the equipment at the end of the overall project schedule of the AV discipline.
- Witness the last operational testing of the system; pursues and will be responsible for the Interim acceptance. Will coordinate with the client to involve the operational AV team to assist this testing phase as a first step of the training

Maintenance and Operating Instructions.
- Collate details and information from the AV hardware supplier for later incorporation into the maintenance and operating manuals, like simple user operating instructions, more detailed engineering staff instructions; Charts for control racks and control room; Labelling and diagrams of the equipment and racks; Software lists and references; Parts list; Health and Safety file; Other equipment manufacturer’s manuals; As built System drawings; Site interface drawings; Maintenance and servicing; Safety and regulatory information.

Quality Assurance
- Regular site visits to make progress and quality checks.
- Diagnose and remedy faults and problems. Troubleshoot electronic systems and equipment.
- Maintain accurate and current files, detailed and timely paperwork, manage logs, produce reports, and undergo health and safety audits.
- Be proactive in suggesting new methods and techniques to improve efficiency.
- To ensure a prompt, courteous and appropriate response to all customer requests for assistance and support, working to defined service level agreements and within contractual timeframes / frameworks.
- Responsible for the tidiness, safety and order of the working environment and Audio Visual spaces whilst maintaining the highest standards.
- Responsible for all manuals, safety practices, and technical information held.
- Supervise testing of portable and installed equipment to diagnose, log and repair faults.
- Ensures the working condition, calibration and on-going maintenance of all test equipment, tools and associated hardware.
- Ensures all work is performed to the standards and that quality techniques are practiced.

Training for the AV installation.
- Provide user training to the museums team in the use of the AV systems.
- Provide training on carrying out preventative maintenance on all installed systems and equipment
- Produce Operational process and procedural documentation for staff on the use and maintenance of the systems installed.
- Training on 1st line maintenance response to help identify issues and resolutions for a quick fix or workaround in both Physical Inspection and Functional testing

Content Management (soft part of the AV project)
- Coordination with the contents team of the project and with the content supplier (consultant, client)
- Manage all media content. Correct any technical issues with presentation systems

Requirements

Work experience: minimum 8-10 years
- Installation supervision experience in fit out projects in such as retail, museums, or hotels with knowledge of audiovisuals, lighting, electricity, control systems and project legalization documents
- Retail/ Industrial/ manufacturing/workshop/museums and fit out project experience will be viewed favorably.

Professional skills:
- Ability to mentor and provide direction to others when required.
- Bilingual communication skills in English is essential. Excellent English written skills. Arabic basics very welcome. Spanish (optional)
- Excellent understanding of construction drawings, specifications and conditions of contracts.
- Reading and interpretation of layouts, AutoCAD (drawing, print), MS office package.
