Job description / Role

Assistant Vice President, Group Tax:
Responsible for Group Tax including compliance, tax planning, accounting for taxes, preparation of tax returns and implementation of new tax laws. to work closely with Compliance, Business teams, Legal.

Description
• Responsible for effective tax management as per the best practices and application of tax laws and regulations.
• Where external accountants and tax consultants are engaged, liaising with them to ensure that they are performing their duties effectively and tax function of those entities is best managed.
• Advising Head of Finance on the tax implications of new business deals and lead the deal structuring from tax perspective.
• Review the existing business deals and overall group Balance Sheet to identify and mitigate tax related risks.
• Review and advise the impact of changing tax landscape on the group.
• Perform tax planning and analysis to support middle and senior management.
• Manage tax compliance, reporting, and filing works for the Group.
• Establish appropriate system or processes for tax risk management for the Group
• Act as the key point of contact and support for local and international taxation matters.
• FATCA & CRS - entity classification and reporting.

Requirements

• Degree in accounting, Law and tax with professional accounting qualification like CPA, CA or ACCA is essential.
• At least 5 years' experience of working in a Big-4 tax department (preferably international tax advisory / compliance).
• Previous experience within an Investment banking tax department is additional advantage.
• Knowledge of US FATCA reporting / CRS.
