Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• The BIM Manager establishes the proper BIM procedures and methods for the organization, Programmes and Projects.
• Ensures that the Contractors’ BIM processes serve the Engineering and Business Requirements for managing multi-discipline collaborative workflows and BIM Uses.
• Ensures that tools and processes are properly used in order to comply with the standards in place and Customer Requirements
• Coordinates IT solutions required to deliver the Projects.
• Determines training needs, and organises training when required.
• Coordinates the agreed standards and ensures compliance with those standards and methods.
• Participate in the process of developing BIM standards for projects across the programme

• Industry knowledge in multiple Project disciplines.
• In depth knowledge of BIM Concepts, BIM Delivery Methods and model uses,
• Thorough familiarity with all BIM contract requirements distributed by the organisation.
• Demonstrable expertise in preparation of 3D BIM models and construction documents using appropriate design standards
• Expertise in clash detection and coordination of all services per design standards
• Expertise in content creation such as parametric families and type catalogues
• Good understanding of integration from/to BIM with other applications
• BIM and associated software skills supporting the automation of routines to support standards and improve productivity
• BIM experience - 3D rendering and visualization, analysis and simulations etc..
• Generally good computing skills in the areas of Architecture, Engineering and Construction
• Provides access to BIM Standards, References and Templates that shall be used to provide Project information and define customized methods and procedures for the Programme or Project.
• Review and approve all documentation submitted by the PMC such as:
- PDP – Programme Development Plan
- PIP – Project Implementation Plan
- Model Strategy.
- Project Development Sequence.
- BIM Use processes

• Ensures that BIM requirements, methods and procedures are provided to the D&B Contractor.
• Reviews and approves all documentation submitted by the D&B Contractor such as:
- PIP - Project Implementation Plan
- Model Strategy.
- Project Development Sequence.
- BIM Uses processes.

• Ensures that all Methods and Procedures are created by the BIM Coordinator and the Lead Engineers/Disciplines.
• Ensures that all Methods and Procedures are created using the templates and guidance provided by the PMC.
• Reviews and approves all documentation submitted by the BIM Coordinator from the D&B and the Lead Engineers per Discipline such as:
- PIP.
- Model Strategy.
- Project Development Sequence.
- BIM Uses processes.

• Validates that Project delivery is compliant with the Standards, the Programme Development Plan and BIM Project Implementation Plan is the responsibility of BIM Managers at all levels.

Requirements

• Experienced in BIM delivery in the applicable Project fields and industries.
• Minimum of 12+ years post graduate experience with experience in major infrastructure projects or programmes; preference will be given to roads, aviation, structures or rail related experience
• University degree from a recognized university in an appropriate field such as Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management or equivalent
• 8 years’ experience in BIM/Revit/AutoCAD software
• Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken. Native Arabic Speakers will be at an advantage
• Experience of working in Qatar and / or the Gulf region
