Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client is a Project Management Company and they are currently looking for Business Development Manager to work in Qatar.

Purpose: To contribute to the operations, strategy and business development department objectives by assuming lead responsibility for researching, identifying, analysing and creating new business opportunities in the specified markets, supporting and enhancing existing Client relationships and leading new proposals in line with the approved Go-to-Market, Quality, Proposal, Capture and Win Strategies and supporting all related activities through contract award and beyond. The role acts in support of the Strategic and Business Development Department Management.

You will report to the Business Development Director.

Duties & Responsibilities

Strategy:
- Ensure effective cascading of the Business Development strategy into proposals and awards.
- Lead the development, seek approval and manage the implementation of the Business Development strategic business plan, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategies.

Leadership:
- Develop new and maintain existing customer relationships
- Self-initiate, contribute value for service and support the other related activities as part of an integrated delivery team
- Seek and identify customers in company target markets through research and direct contact with potential customers
- Manage the effective achievement of Business Development departmental objectives through by using a market intelligence process, managing the transition of leads, opportunities and referrals through the proposal stages and overseeing the Client relationship, proposal staff and submission processes.
- Identify value-adding alternative proposal and delivery strategies in addition to leading compliant Proposals.

Organization Structure:
- Manage an optimized organisation structure for sustainable, winning proposal and project execution strategies to optimize resources and communication can take place in an efficient manner.

Budgets and Plans:
- Manage effective Business Development and proposals in line with accepted budgets and identify any areas of unsatisfactory performance, potential areas of project cost reduction, asset value or performance improvement opportunities.

Industry Networking and Intelligence:
- Lead and manage the proactive networking with potential clients, consultants and contractors in order to ascertain the prevailing local market trends in the infrastructure development, construction and project management sector and provide input to strategic corporate planning strategies and plans.

Business Partnerships:
- Identify and cultivate relationships with potential partners in order to pursue potential business expansion initiatives.

Business and Proposals Management:
- Collaborate with company management to prepare and implement the company’s Marketing and Business Development Plan and Strategy for meeting business goals
- Regularly track and report current status of Proposals, Proposal lists, leads, potential projects, markets, customer news and other developments impacting submission and strategies.
- Lead the development and preparation of RFP’s, Pre-Qualification, formal presentations.
- Ensure all communication with customers are in accordance with the company’s standards and correct in content and format.

Identification of Opportunities:
- Lead the initial screening and research of the local marketplaces to effectively identify profitable business opportunities for the company.
- Identify new business opportunities which can be converted into revenue generating opportunities in line with the company’s business objectives.
- Liaise and develop business relationships with public and private institutions to establish services in order to support effective project management.
- Manage the development of identified opportunities for revenue growth from existing clients and/or diversification opportunities so that income is maximised from current operations.
- Provide business development actions from the concept stage to project commercialization to maximize the rate of return on investment.

Risk Management:
- Manage the effective assessment of risk of new projects in order to provide management with an informed view of the risks involved and propose risk mitigation measures to enable the projects to proceed with acceptable level of risk.

Relationship Management:
- Solicit customer feedback through the project proposal and execution phases
- Maintain customer and potential customer CRM and contact lists.

Change Management:
- Track and direct activities to reflect changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans and as they pertain to on-going or forecasted new business and other relationships.

Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment:
- Ensure proposal compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety, sustainability and environmental management policies, procedures and controls referenced throughout the proposals to comply with Company or RFP Guidelines including standards for the delivery of high quality products/service and a safe and responsible environmental attitude.

Statements and Reports:
- Ensure that all mandated or beneficial departmental reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet the company’s requirements, policies and standards.

Related Assignments:
- Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Qualification in Project Management and Construction industry technologies.
- Good knowledge of the relevant infrastructure development markets.
- High level of English grammar and proposal writing skills.
- MS Office (Excel, Word) proficiency required.
- Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign Publishing experience, a plus.
- CRM use and proficiency, a plus.
