Our client, the government master planning agency for Qatar in the Middle East, is now expanding their international resourcing requirements due to the recent award of FIFA 2022 to Qatar. Our client seeks a CAD Operator / Draftsman who will work as part of the National Master Planning Team to provide CAD drafting services to the Qatar National Master Planning Team with the Urban Design/Urban Renewal Group.

Your duties will include:

• General design work, drafting, printing, checking of drawings, and communication with National Master Planning Team.
• Modification of drawings in accordance with National Master Planning Team and mark-ups and specifications on existing drawings
• Creation of new drawings from hand drawings and conceptual ideas.

Requirements

• Diploma or certification in CAD and AutoCAD and / or ArcView GIS.
• Experience in planning, urban design and/or landscape architecture is preferred.
• Knowledge and demonstrated experience in AutoCAD 2006, 2008, 2009 (essential).
• Knowledge and demonstrated experience in ArcView GIS (essential).
• Knowledge and demonstrated experience in 3D, PhotoShop, Acrobat InDesign, and MS Office.
• Strong planning/urban design aptitude and knowledge of the urban development and planning process and context.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Good written and spoken English skills (Arabic language skills would be an advantage).
• Ability to prioritise work, work independently, problem-solve, adaptability and the capacity to work under pressure and to short time-lines.
• Experience in undertaking multiple tasks, associated with medium to large-scale urban design and planning projects (preferably in a planning/development environment).
