Job Purpose

The position is responsible for an exceptional daily live cake performance at "Le Dome". Showcasing most modern & refined cake finishing of themed cakes, wedding cakes & any kind of show pieces for the different areas within the complex, in order to enhance the guest experience of "Le Dome" guests as well as to entice the upsell of signature cakes. Furthermore it's crucial to this position to ensure maximum guest satisfaction, by being most present at the outlet & engaging directly with the guests, precise planning, organizing and delivery of cakes & artwork on time & as per guests' requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

MANAGE THE CAKE ARTIST DEPARTMENT, HYGIENE & WORK SAFETY

- Ensure that all materials are properly reviewed & accurately estimated with accordance to the business level
- Assure any spoiled or damaged equipment are not into use to ensure work safety is maintained
- Ensure that all projects are crafted as per guests' requirements and minimizing waste
- Constantly on the alert for new innovative creations to improve the set-up and presentation standards in the banquet and restaurants
- Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
- Kept to the hotel's standard according to the required quality and hygiene
- Make recommendations to the Executive Pastry Chef regarding succession planning
- Ensuring all standards as set by the hotel and regulated by local authorities, ensuring all hygiene, safety controls systems are followed and maintained. At the same time to work closely with F&B Service and other operational departments.

OTHER RESPONSABILITIES

- Ensure that the Cake Artist Section adheres to all company and hotel policies and procedures
- Project a positive and motivated attitude amongst all colleagues & guests
- Follow guidelines provided in Colleague Handbook
- Show a personal interest in knowing all culinary associates
- Set example to others on personal hygiene and cleanliness on and off duty
- Acquire Cake Artist knowledge and skills to up to the next level of Art works

Requirements

Profile

Knowledge and Experience

- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate & thorough understanding of all occupational health and safety issues
- Specialized in Pastry in relevant Culinary School or College Diploma, preferred
- Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in the same culinary position, preferably in similar operations style
- Creative & Innovative
- Strong working knowledge of using special equipment to perform the task
