Chief Accountant in Food Services/Trading

Job description / Role

We are working on behalf of our client which is a quality food service company with focus on the high end market. Based in Qatar, the company which is a subsidiary of a much larger Middle Eastern conglomerate focuses primarily on the Importing of quality food and beverage products to restaurants, hotels and retail food stores. They are currently the leading position in Qatar’s food industry and they are seeking a Chief Accountant to support the Finance team.

Coordinating with the finance team and working to tight deadlines, your role will entail performing month-end closing, reconciliations, monitoring expenditures and assisting in budget preparation, forecasting and determining budget variances. You will create reports and graphs in Excel, presenting to management which therefore means you should have advanced Excel and analytical skills. The successful candidate will evaluate and recommend changes to existing accounting procedures and computerized accounting systems and you will also provide guidance to other Accountants when needed.

Salary:
QAR 15000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

In order to be considered for this role, you will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, within a food service/trading company, who is a supplier and wholesale distributor of gourmet food and beverage. Candidates are required to have advanced leadership, analytical and organizational skills. It is also essential that you possess an accountancy qualification of CIMA, CPA or equivalent and you must have absolute proficiency in spoken and written English language skills with an exceptional eye for detail and strong work ethic.
