Our client has an exciting opportunity in Qatar for an experienced UK Qualified Chief Legal & Compliance Officer who will function as a key part of the leadership team of this well respected and renowned international organisation.

Reporting to the CEO of the joint venture, you will provide a full range of legal advice and support, supporting in all aspects of legal and compliance for the JV, whilst maintaining the highest standards of compliance and governance with all aspects of Qatari Corporate Law. This is an exciting and hands-on role to work for an employer of choice which will certainly take your career to the next level. Key accountabilities include but will not be limited to, understanding all legal and compliance issues operating a JV within the defence sector in Qatar, supporting contractual arrangements with customers and suppliers, developing legal solutions to complex business issues, drafting, negotiating, agreeing and completion of contractual arrangements and keeping abreast of legal and business developments for the business and providing training where necessary.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have a minimum 5 years PQE, UK Qualified and have experience working with a leading law firm and/or in-house experience. You should have a strong compliance and corporate commercial background ideally from the defence sector along with a proven track operating within a company with a strong emphasis of the highest corporate governance and compliance standards. You should also have experience in management of business risk including reputational risk, with a particular focus on anti-bribery and corruption, intellectual property, data protection and records management. Experience in the GCC would be highly advantageous.
