Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Responsible for the day to day activities related to the implementation and maintenance of the Trade Effluent Control framework and in particular the analysis and assessment of quality data and the management of the licensing and compliance activities.
• Provide support and expert guidance on the implementation of the Trade Effluent framework
• Evaluate the type of industry expected effluent type and potential impact at main sewer reception
• Review effluent quality data and associated process information, analyze trends and issues and recommend possible courses of action
• Provide expert advice regarding sewage quality data when information illustrates non-compliance
• Carry out assessments for pre-treatment and provide information as required
• Prepare weekly monthly reports for internal and external stakeholders and attend meetings as requested
• Provide the data and information to archive section for records
• Carry out site visits to oversee pre-treatment works and ensure control framework is operating as requested
• Research and keep up to date with international best practice on trade effluent treatment and environment compliance and relevant practices
• Share relevant knowledge and experience, understand and communicate to others the various aims, concepts, principles and practice applied to deliver/meet DO&M’s future trade effluent and environmental needs
• Ensure that Health, Safety and Environment rules and Public Works Authority regulations are adhered to and comply with any new work instructions

Requirements

• Degree in engineering/relevant subject
• MSC in environment and/or Wastewater Process Engineering preferred
• Holder of current/valid Qatar Driving Licence
• Knowledge & Experience
• Minimum of 6 - 8 years’ experience working on wastewater quality standards and/or treatment processes
• Extensive knowledge of wastewater quality standards and/or treatment processes
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Arabic and English preferred
