Civil Engineer (Facilities)

Job description / Role

• Should be familiar with local Authorities and regulations (Building permits, Building Completion Certificate hand over process etc.)
• Must be conversant with multiple core activities performed as a part of Facilities Management.
• Should have ability to assess the risks and perform/ influence decisions related to FM.
• Should have ability to liaise with Governmental authorities for and on behalf of Barwa
• Should have ability to receive and respond to executive management instructions and delegate work, set clear direction to the employees.
• Should have excellent communications skills with tact and patience (verbal as well as written) for dealing with Employees of all grades as well as with Local Authorities
• Should have capacity to respond to emergency situations by performing the duties assigned in compliance with company procedures as well as government regulations.
• Should have ability to lead team multicultural employees.
• Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
• Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
• Knowledge of Capex and Opex Expenditures.
• Provide expert advice and guidance for all FM opportunities, working closely with the bid teams to design FM delivery strategies that are aligned with international FM standards and understand the risk profile for each FM opportunity and develop the mitigation strategies.
• Active participation in furnishing the tender documents and specifications and coordinating with tender committee from cradle to grave process.
• Develop and implement business & operational plans for new (mothball) & existing sites across all real estate segments for Hard FM in line with approved asset business plan policies and procedures.
• Develop and manage the scope and budgeting for the CAPEX reviewing and approving for the facilities management service provider

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 Years’ Experience in Facilities Management (Civil)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineer
• Knowledge of Capex and Opex Expenditures
• Excellent communication skills
