Clinical Nurse Leader - Psychiatric Clinic (Women & Children)

Job description / Role

The Clinical Nurse Leader supports the Clinical Nurse Manager in the provision of leadership and direction to nursing staff and utilises data and informaiton to ensure that the service is organised for safety and measures are in place to capture the standard of service delivery.

The Clinical Nurse Leader is a key member of the interprofessional team and ensures that standards for nursing care are adhered to at unit level while working within a shift pattern to cover the 24 hour requirements of the service as applicable.

The Clinical Nurse Leader works collaboratively with the Nurse Manager to ensure that commissioning, recruitment, onboarding, orientation and service activation responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the organisations plans and timelines. During the Pre-Operational Phase the Clinical Nurse Leader may be required to work on administrative and strategic setup practices for the Nursing Operations.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Registered Nurse (graduate of 3 year Nursing program)
- At least 4 years of clinical nursing experience, inclusive of 2 years management/supervisory experience, in specialty area with no break in clinical practice in a North American Academic Institution, or equivalent in UK, Republic of Ireland, EU states, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand
- Valid professional Nursing License from country of origin
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and motivate teams to meet care objectives
- Demonstrated ability to delegate, supervise, and evaluate the performance of nursing interventions
- Demonstrated ability to design, coordinate and evaluate plans of care
- Demonstrated ability to apply and integrate knowledge and skills into practice
- Demonstrated ability to use risk analysis tools to anticipate safety risks
- Demonstrated ability to access, critique, and analyze information sources
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize data, information and knowledge on patient outcomes and modify interventions to improve health care outcomes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in organizing data and generating thorough, accurate, timely reports
- Demonstrated experience with Clinical Information Systems (CIS)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Fluency in written and spoken English
