Employment: Full Time

Have you managed a Commercial Department leading not only the company but all the commercial teams & projects?

We are seeking someone that has the contracts, claims and commercial management experience to run a Multi Million Contracting business based here in DOHA – Qatar.

We do not aim to go into arbitration but as people with GCC experience know you have to be prepared to go contractual if needed. You have to have an angle to play otherwise clients no matter how good will keep that retention payment longer than needed!

A bit about our client

Multi-Disciplinary Main Contractor that has 50 Years + Successful trading in the Middle East , as a client we have held a relationship with this group since 2008.

• A small project would be £50 Million & large £1 Billion.
• Examples of work – Airports, Stadia, High Rise, Mixed Use, Metro, Rail, Oil & Gas, Education, Healthcare, Military & Government Contracts
• Cash rich client that pays employees, supply chain and associates on time. Good name for how they treat people.
• Demonstrated by the Last Corporate Contracts Manager being with the group 10 Years before heading home and leaving the Middle East.

No egos within the business and I would describe them as a good old fashioned Main Contractor. Remote working is not supported and all key people have to be based in the head office in Doha.

When Qatar is busy they are busy and the last 5 Years they have been flat out with at present 7 Live Projects under construction

What NSR Associates want to find is someone comfortable with working for a fast paced Main Contractor. You will hands on manage , drive and lead teams. You will have 4 Commercial Managers / Managing Quantity Surveyors reporting into you so a history of managing a team is requested.

Salary:
QAR 65,000 to 72,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
Additional benefits: Flights, Medical & Bonus

Requirements

The following is NON Negotiable for this client

• 6 Day Working Week (same in Head Office & projects)
• Degree Educated – Quantity Surveying
• You will be based full time in Doha happy to settle and become a long term resident in the country
• Western Educated *Requested by client ( Irish , British , South African Universities )
• MRICS Desired but not essential
• Exposure to both Buildings & Civil Engineering Projects
• Handled Major Projects £50 Million + Schemes with a Portfolio of £900 Million + At any one time.
• Largest Project currently under construction is £1.1 Billion
• FIDIC Contract experience KEY as this is the contract most commonly used in Qatar
• Happy with the budget and understand that over time your package will increase as will the annual Bonus.
• It will purely take time for both parties to trust and understand each other in this element.
