Job description / Role
Overall Responsibility:
The Commercial Manager will be reporting directly to the Project Manager and the Contract Manager and will lead a group of Quantity Surveyors within the Department and the wider project team.
Key responsibilities:
• Full sub-contract activities, re-measurement, variations, payments, contra charges, final accounts, personally manage major subcontract accounts, reconciliations with Head contract.
• Head contract administration, interim paymens, re-measurement, variations (identification, notification, logging, valuation, agreement), correspondance.
• Ensuring that reporting and procedural process are maintained, and that improvements are implemented.
• Supporting commercial staff with escalation issues.
• Preparation of ad hoc reports and the delivery of presentations, both internally and externally.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
• Minimum 15 years relevant work experience, with at least 3 years as a Commercial Manager.
• Minimum 7 years international experience of managing multicultural teams.
• Membership of a professional body (RICS, ICE, CIOB, CIArb) preferred but not essential.
• Detailed knowledge of Engineering contract terms and condition
• Highly skilled with CESMM3
• Fluent English language skills (read / written / spoken)
• Highly developed negotiation skills.
• Strong team manager capable of working in a high pressure environment.
