Charterhouse is working with a leading law firm that is looking to hire a Construction Disputes Partner to play a key role within their existing offering in Doha. The firm would be interested in a high quality Lawyer with experience of construction litigation, arbitration and pre-litigation matters, based in the region and ideally with client relationships / track-record.

The firm is interested in an individual already based in the Middle East. There is emphasis on a high calibre individual, Common Law qualified, client facing with strong track-record of construction disputes work.

You will play a lead role in the management and ongoing development of the firm’s disputes practice which will involve working closely with the existing Partner. The firm has an excellent reputation in relation to construction work, with an existing client-base gained over many years in the market.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established law firm in the Doha market at a Partner level, with a view to playing a lead role in the conduct of cases, development of the practice, clients etc. You will be actively involved with business and client development, with superb prospects for continued career and practice development.

Requirements

The successful candidate should be a Common Law qualified Construction Litigation and International Arbitration Solicitor, at Partner / Partner-designate level with high quality experience gained at an international / legal directories ranked law firm. You should have experience dealing with back end construction matters / familiarity with the suites of documents.

This would be a good opportunity for an individual who has perhaps hit a glass ceiling and would be interested in exploring partnership / career development opportunities elsewhere. There is an interest in an individual who wants to be involved in client and business development, with some form of an existing and developing network.

The work will involve acting for high profile clients and complex matters, so demonstrable experience of leading on sizeable disputes is essential, combined with excellent academics. Arabic language skills are advantageous but not required.
