About the opportunity

We are looking for an experienced mechanical construction supervisor to oversee large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. This is a long-term, site-based role where you'll play a key part in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

Supervise construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with scope of work, engineering design, and QHSE standards.

Review and provide input on construction method statements, material submittals, and commissioning procedures.

Act as the performing authority for contractor permit to work activities.

Oversee site works for mechanical disciplines, ensuring safe execution in line with approved specifications.

Participate in constructability reviews as needed.

Review contractors' schedules, method statements, and job safety analyses.

Coordinate mobilisation of contractors, including site laydown areas and permit processes.

Inspect and test completed works; arrange pre-commissioning checks and initiate mechanical completion certificates.

Monitor punch list completion and clearance.

Review and endorse red-marked and as-built drawings.

Participate in handover, acceptance, and commissioning activities.

Review and endorse construction dossiers for assigned projects.

Support workforce development by ensuring local nationals receive appropriate on-the-job training.

Qualifications and experience

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent diploma in a related discipline.

10 to 15 years' experience in construction and installation for oil and gas projects, including extensive exposure to large-scale solar (photovoltaic) projects.

Proven experience working in live oil and gas plant environments.

Knowledge of industry best practices, systems, processes, and standards.

Strong construction management skills, with effective communication and conflict resolution abilities.
