Contracts Manager

Job description / Role

Required Contracts Manager to head country wide Contracts department in Qatar Middle East .
Applicants should be degree qualified in an appropriate discipline such as Quantity Surveying and must have hands on experience in preparing Variations and Contractual claim documents requesting Extension of time and additional payment. Previous experience in the Middle East would be advantageous for the role.

Requirements

• Develop, update, and amend standard forms of subcontracts, purchase orders, design agreements to support Company Internal Management System .
• Actively manage responses to documents with contractual content or effect issued by the employer, or other entity and submit to senior management for review;
• Advise and liaise with the senior management in establishing the main contract scope of works to enable production of accurate tenders for works;
• Review contracts at tender stage, identify ambiguities and risks and submit to the senior management as risk assessment;
• Provide support for the training of Quantity Surveyors and Site Contract Managers;
• Provide support and advice, when requested, to project management on contractual matters in respect of main contract and subcontract issues; including such matters such as claims and variations, requests for engineer decision, amicable settlement, maintenance of site records etc.
• Liaise with Company Senior management legal representatives prior to commencing formal dispute procedures including mediation, adjudication, arbitration or litigation as well as hiring of necessary legal counsel or experts for reporting on disputed matters;
• Liaise with Company senior managers in respect of potential or ongoing disputes.
