Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Support QIRP projects and corporate procurement contracts strategies, modalities, formation and support.

Provide support for the following:
- Develop and manage Procurement and Contracting Policy and Procedures
- Develop Contract Modalities
- Developing Standard Contract Terms and Conditions for all departments
- Revising Contracting Strategies
- Contracts Conditions Assessment and Improvement
- Contract Document Formation
- Arrangement of final Contract Document review and acceptance by Sponsoring/End-user department
- Arrangement of final Contract Document review and acceptance by the Legal department
- Arrangement of Arrangement of final Contract Document review and acceptance by the Contractor
- Contract Administration
- Responsible for All Amendments and Variations to the Contract document
- Provides advice on all contractual issues during the life cycle of the Contract
- The Contract section provides final Assurance assessment on Variation orders and Claims after it is escalated from Commercial section
- Contracts Close-out
- Evaluates and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes
- Resolves vendor and contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers.
- Maintains records of deliverables completed and received
- Develops innovative contracting approaches to achieve positive outcomes
- Keeps abreast of new legislation, government policy, best practice and relevant external factors relevant to procurement and contracting activity.
- Ensures effective audit and performance management mechanisms are in place and provide statutory returns and reports as required

Requirements

- Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or similar
- Minimum 15 years similar experience either within a client, consultant environment
- Senior commercial/procurement/legal experience on major infrastructure projects
- Major rail/metro/underground/above and at grade type projects
- Excellent document drafting and contract formation skills
- Strong working knowledge of the FIDIC suite of contracts
- Ability to translate the contracting strategy into effective and comprehensive contract documents
- Claims management experience
- Experience of procurement and contracting
