Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job summary

• Prepare and assist with Infrastructure related project contracts, ensuring alignment with respective project’s needs

Roles & responsibilities

General

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance
• Prepare timely and accurate MIS statements and reports

Control mechanisms

• Monitor the work of the awarded contractor/consultant/stake holder by liaising with the respective department, to ensure compliance with the contract
• Take actions / escalate when the contact is not being adhered to
• Review disputes with contractors related to project procurement / contracts
• Negotiate and recommend best way forward to resolve disputes to ensure mutual satisfaction of both parties

Contract processes

• Undertake contract related processes and monitor contract progress
• Prepare financial statements during the period of the contract detailing the financial position for the assigned departments.
• Carry out the evaluate and agree all variations, change orders or concession requests with the contractor/consultant, and prepare submission together with respective requesting department to concerned Tenders Committee for approval.

Requirements

• 2 -4+ years of contract management experience, preferably with respect to Infrastructure/Buildings Contracts
• Experience in awarding and managing contracts
• Knowledge of Infrastructure tendering and contracts processes – commercial, technical and legal
• Specific knowledge of local infrastructure contract laws and other applicable contractual terms
• Excellent communication and interpersonal management skills
• Ability to manage time and prioritize work efficiently
• Excellent writing and drafting skills
• Adept at building strong relationships

Education

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or similar discipline
• Any other related Contract certifications –advantageous
