Our client, a well-respected public works authority for the country of Qatar, is looking to recruit a Corporate BIM Manager / Expert to strategically develop, implement and operate BIM across the organisation. With the practical completion of Qatar’s comprehensive national master plan and the award of FIFA2022, the country is currently embarking on a major infrastructure construction campaign which will see project design and construction activity as well as job opportunities continue to grow for years to come.

Reporting to the Corporate Planning Director and managing a BIM Team, your responsibilities in this role will include to:

• Overall implementation and operations of BIM management system for the firm.
• Continuous improvement of the firm’s BIM environment including processes, technology and people.
• Develop BIM training and development plans for the firm’s core business units.
• Monitoring and adherence of core business and supply chain to established BIM standards and processes.
• Coordinate with core business to identify BIM-enabled supply chain partners for collaboration with the firm.
• Develop, lead and assist project teams in BIM project set up.
• Develop and deliver, in conjunction with the firm’s strategic Program Management Companies, structured BIM models for programs/projects within the company.
• Provide guidance and assistance with design projects to ensure they are setup and progress optimally, and teams are using design standards appropriately.
• Ensure that the design standards align with the firm’s CAD-BIM strategy and link appropriately with the wider business.
• Develop procedures to facilitate sharing of content and knowledge throughout the firm.

Requirements

Essential attributes include:

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering or comparable with a minimum of 12 experience in design, engineering and construction with a minimum of 7 years in BIM.
• Must-have experience in establishing BIM environment at a corporate level in a large government or similar client entity. Candidate must have worked with Asset Owners in their BIM career.
• In depth knowledge of BIM Standards and Procedures, BIM concepts, BIM delivery methods and BIM uses.
• Extensive hands-on experience in BIM project environment (Infrastructure, Buildings and Operations & Maintenance)
• Ability to lead BIM teams for new implementations and continuous improvement.
• Experience in executing and monitoring corporate-level BIM operations in a client
• Be a self-starter and a team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Expertise in the strategic BIM development and implementation across a large engineering or construction company.
