Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Role Objective:
• To understand and execute the work flow of the Corporate desk with its related functions within its intermediate level.
• Helping in attracting new deposits, FX and other treasury business from corporates clients, acting to establish and maintain the relationship and accounts through phone calls, mailings, events, etc.
• Undertaking day to day tasks to help in running the corporate desk tasks as delegated by superiors within the department.

The tasks could non-exclusively include:
• Preparing deposits reports.
• Handling customers’ requests for statements, notifications or any other info.
• Interacting with other desks, business and support units.
• Booking of deposits and other related transactions.
• Writing and replying at profit rates related inquiries.
• Proper documentation and paper work.
• Research.
• Attending meetings and other duties.
• Following up with deposits inquiries and deposits rollovers.
• Reading daily into the financial market to keep up to date financial market information and knowledge.
• To be able to fill in the gap within the desk, under direct supervision of superiors or more experienced dealers within the department.

Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:

FINANCIAL
• Attracting new deposits and convincing clients for rollover.
• Opening new customer’s accounts.
• Activating dormant client’s accounts.
• Helping the team in finding liquidity source to adjust financial ratios, financial books, and the bank funding requirements.
• Managing cost of funds through negotiation for lowest possible rates.

CUSTOMER
• Assisting the team in building the organization’s brand and profile within local market financial institutions and corporates clients of treasury related business.
• Establishing new relationship with corporates and Financial institutions.
• Operating related clients’ accounts.
• Handling customer inquiries and requests.
• Executing transactions pertained to corporates desk with clients.
• Showing high responsiveness toward customer satisfaction in consistency with MAR related mission and strategy.

INTERNAL
• Compliance with all policies, procedures and instructions by head of treasury and direct managers.
• Liaising between Corporate desk and other desks, departments or functions.
• Proper reporting as being instructed and directed by superiors.
• Acting as assistant to ensure strong communication with all interdependent divisions across Masraf Al Rayan organization as well as its affiliates.

LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
• Sharing thoughts and ideas, through being interactive during team business discussions.
• Being up to date by reading market news and developments.
• Understanding treasury work flow and related technicalities by observing and applying instructions from superiors.
• Developing the negotiations and customer relationship skills.

• Private Banking Division
• Cash Management Division
• Financial Institution Division
• Retail Banking Division
• Operations and Swift department.
• All other employees (as and when required)

External:
• Brokers
• Existing and potential clients
• Local, GCC and International Banks

The Job holder may be required to undertake additional duties, which may be reasonably expected and forms part of the function of the job.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in finance related discipline preferred.
• 2-3 years’ experience working in a related role in a financial services institution
• Strong English and, ideally, Arabic language skills
• IT and related system usage skills.
