Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job Summary and Purpose
Facilitate the development and review of the corporate strategy and business plan, as well as track progress against it and advise on the required actions/changes and continuous improvement activities as needed. The role shall also actively contribute to cascading the corporate strategy into divisional/functional strategies (Finance strategy, IT strategy, Supply Strategy…etc.) in alignment with the corporate overall strategy.

Key Accountabilities:

Corporate Planning:
• Support the process of setting, reviewing, and updating Nakilat corporate strategy, and monitor its implementation as per the set plans.
• Support the process of translating the approved corporate strategy to come up with the company business plan (both short and long term).
• Facilitate the cascade the corporate strategy and business plan down to all functions and support the building of functional strategies and business plans.
• Collect, monitor and report on corporate & functional Objectives and ensure correct mitigation actions are taking place for the organization to achieve its corporate strategy.
• Facilitate and assist the business to prioritize and align initiatives and potential investment opportunities in line with the corporate direction.
• Initiate, organize and implement best practice activities aimed at enhancing business practices in general, and specifically in relation to a comprehensive strategy execution.
• Facilitate Executive Leadership Team (ELT) meetings by managing agenda, for alignment and decision-making for strategic projects and initiatives through highlighting focus topics and monitoring action items resulting from ELT meetings.

Data Collection, Analysis and Forecasts:
• Work with different functions in building industry intelligence, trends, competitors profiling etc. and provide recommendations on strategic actions to senior management.
• Based on set intervals, collect data and report progress on the achievement of business plans and suggest appropriate corrective and preventive actions where necessary.
• Participate in analyzing, producing and interpreting business data to solve business issues such as operational/financial analysis, strategic assessment of current and future growth opportunities, research and analysis that support certain business strategies, financial scenario modeling and investments.
• Develop ad hoc analysis for senior management to assess current/historical trends and the potential impact on future operations and profitability (as required).
• Facilitate the determining the appropriate analysis techniques and methods for presenting the information in a way that meets customers’ needs.
• Support in identifying and fostering innovative initiatives and development programs that would lead to reach organization strategic capabilities and excel among various business functions.

• Adhere to all relevant QHSE policies, procedures, instructions and controls so that NAKILAT provides a safe, world class, secure and environmentally responsible service to customers, the public and its own people.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures:
• Implement approved policies, processes and procedures, and provide instructions to subordinates to ensure their proper implementation.

Others:
• Manage assigned business meetings agenda, topics and action items and minutes of meetings.
• Support the Risk function in driving their ERM during the planning cycle (as required).
• Support and assist in business excellence processes and activities (as required).
• Carry out any other duties as directed by the direct supervisor.

Requirements

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or any other related filed.

Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate planning in shipping or any other related filed.

Job Specific Skills:
• Experience in application of strategic planning processes
• Good knowledge of various analytical models and methodology
• Experience in financial and operational performance processes
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
