Location: Doha, Qatar

The country of Qatar continues to experience substantial construction growth with infrastructure budgets rising to over $90B for infrastructure and road projects by 2022. To support this growth, our client; the public works authority; has created a senior Advisor role in the field of Corporate Planning and Strategy for this government agency.

This role advises on:
• Business Process Reengineering/Improvements (BPR/BPI)
• The EFQM Excellence Model “European Foundation for Quality Management”
• Development of Corporate Strategies.
• Providing world standard advice to the Government in the field of corporate and strategic planning.

Reporting to the Corporate Planning & Strategy Manager (Qatari National), this role is advisory and is responsible for the following:
• Advisory service in the preparation and implementation of corporate and strategic planning including the building of key performance indicators, setting of vision and mission and setting of corporate goals to enable achievement of departmental and organisational goals and objectives.
• Design, implement and evaluate initiatives to deploy the Excellence model across the firm.
• Provide coaching and to all departments to develop and promote best practices.
• Conduct frequent organizational assessments to measure adoption of excellence practices throughout the firm.
• Develop assessment reports including strength points, areas for improvements and recommendations.
• Liaise with external entities from both public, private and not for profit for benchmarking and adoption of best practices
• Advise on the development of corporate policies in coordination with related business units
• Assist in the process improvement initiatives across the firm in conjunction with external consultants.
• Present findings and recommendations to the senior management team.
• Promote and develop a continuous improvement culture across the business.
• Identify improvement opportunities and manage improvement requests from the business.
• Facilitate and provide specialist process improvement advice to business units via targeted workshops to identify and resolve specific issues that are critically impacting business outcomes and require urgent resolution.

Requirements

• Degree qualification in Commerce or comparable with Master’s Degree from a recognized institution being highly regarded.
• A minimum of 10| years’ experience in corporate and strategic planning with experience in Government being highly desirable.
• Problem solver with out of the box thinking.
• Ability to work across multi-functional teams to deliver quality on time and in a collaborative environment.
• English fluency is essential with Arabic language skills being desirable.
