Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Reporting to the Project Controls Lead, compile project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting and financial reporting.

Task & responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Monitoring and controlling cost activities through all phases of project life cycle;
- Supporting the implementation of project cost management programmes that provide an accurate reflection of project performance at a project and programme level;
- Ensuring that cost reports are delivered on time and within the guidelines of the project controls processes and procedures.
- Developing project budgets in accordance with project estimate and WBS;
- Liaising with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required, to maintain awareness of project activities and their impact on the project budget;
- Producing updates to project cost forecasts;
- Issuing project change orders / variations in accordance with engineering and construction change notifications.
- Cooperation and monitoring of project management consultants.
- Management/Control of the costs as well as the methods and tools of performance measurement.
- Support of financial planning including budgeting.
- Maintain project cost information and historical records of key decisions within a structured filing system.
- Collate and present all project cost data in the form of a monthly project report.

Requirements

Qualifications: Relevant degree in Business or Engineering

Work experience:
- More than five years of experience in project controlling on large projects preferably in a cultural projects
- Experience as a Cost Controller / Specialist;
- Demonstrated experience with Earned Value Management.

Professional skills:
- Proficiency with industry standard software including Microsoft Excel and cost control programmes;
- A strong understanding of Good Project Management controls and governance.
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills, high affinity in numbers, very good understanding of connections, distinctive analytical skills, ability to work independently, accuracy and reliability.
- Business studies in business administration specializing in controlling, finance and accounting or a similar qualification.
