Deputy Commercial Director - Roads/Highways

A reputable consultancy firm is urgently looking to recruit Chartered Deputy Commercial Director to work on some of the largest infrastructure projects in the region. This role is based in Doha, Qatar and is responsible to manage all contracts and claims matters. This role requires extensive expertise in roads/highways projects.

Main responsibilities:
- Responsible of maintaining long term working relationship with clients by ensuring that the best services within quality and cost is achieved
- Manage, train, develop and retain staff
- Assess international contracts requirements as applicable to large scale construction contracts
- Assist in managing complex commercial negotiations or dispute resolution processes
- Negotiate contracts and manage all aspects of risk and commercial exposure at both pre and post contract stages
- Manage dispute resolution and costing activities and ensure that any disputes are resolved efficiently
- Manage costing and payment positions, protecting company financial performance and cash flow
- Contract management and administration, particularly on breaches of contract terms
- Monitoring and managing bonds and insurances
- Budget and cost control – oversight of the ‘master budget’ and constituent project budgets
- Leading all commercial and contractual functions
- Propose commercial models as part of bidding activities
- Provide commercial assurance through forecasting, project review as required and identification of issues giving rise to commercial risk

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying is essential
- Professional accreditation of FRICS or MRICS or equivalent
- A minimum of 20 years post graduate experience
- A minimum of 15 years’ operating at senior management level
- Proven ability to work and manage projects of large scale and complexity
- Previous experience in Roads/Highways projects and claims management
