Job Description

An international school in Qatar that follows the British curriculum is looking for a Deputy Head of Infant Division who will be responsible for liaising with teachers in the department and curriculum development for the program.
Working with the senior leadership team, the Deputy Head of Infant will lead, motivate, support, challenge, and develop staff to secure the highest standards and expectations, including through professional development training for staff linked to planning, teaching, and assessment.
Teaching load will be at 50%. Develop lesson plans and themes in line with British curriculum objectives. Facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with students and organizing learning resources and the classroom environment.
Meeting with teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve any possible behavioral or academic problems. Must also establish clear objectives for all lessons and projects and attend staff meetings.

Monthly Salary Range:
• Tax-free monthly salary from QAR 20,000 to 23,000 AED depending on qualifications and experience.

Housing:
• Free furnished accommodation according to marital status and number of dependents relocating
• Or housing allowance of QAR 5,500 to 8,500 depending on family size
• Utilities paid, up to QAR 300 for single and QAR 500 for married approximately

Health Insurance Coverage:
• Medical insurance for employee and one dependent (spouse or child).

Annual Air Tickets:
• Annual return air fare for employee and one nominated dependent (can either be spouse or child).

Leave:
• In addition to official holidays, paid leave is allocated as per academic calendar and as per country labor law. Minimum 30 workdays per year.

Dependent School Fees:
• 100% discount tuition fee for 1 dependent attending the same school as the employee.

Visa & Medical Check Fees:
• Residence visa fees will be paid for employee only. Employee is responsible for fees for dependents.

End of Service Benefit:
• Gratuity of 21 days of basic salary as per Qatar labor law, for each full year worked.

Contract Period:
• 1 - 2 year contract - renewable.

Paperwork Requirements:
• Notarized and attested academic degrees, teaching certificates, transcripts, marriage, and dependent birth certificates. You will be advised of school requirements.

Start Date:
• As soon as possible.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in education for infant-early years grades from a recognized university (from the UK preferred)
• Master's degree in leadership is an asset
• Teaching license from one of the following countries: UK, US, CA, AU, NZ, ZA (due to visa restrictions)
• Must have excellent English skills and could pass an IELTS exam at level 7
• Must have excellent classroom management skills and be able to deal effectively with student behavior issues

Experience:
• Minimum 3 years teaching experience for primary grades (in the UK preferred)
• Minimum 2 years experience as Deputy or Head Primary Department or in a similar role
• Culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible, and able to work in a continuously changing environment
